GMG survives street fight in Long Beach to finish second in ALMS GT-C -

April 20, 2010 (Santa Ana, Calif.) – Rebounding from a disappointing result at the season-opening 12 Hours of Sebring, GMG Racing let the teams of the American Le Mans Series know they mean business by running up front in GT-C throughout the Tequila Patron American Le Mans Series at Long Beach. Qualifying second for the 100-minute sprint race, the No.32 GMG / Spectra Resources Porsche 911 GT3 Cup ran in second place for the early part of the race as Curtis, who started the race, drove impressively with the race leaders even through lapped traffic.

A pitstop cycle saw the GMG Porsche drop to third place, as Curtis exited the car and Sofronas re-entered the race in third position. Running right behind the two leading cars throughout the final portion of the race, Sofronas was able to move up to second place and finish the race right on the bumper of the winner. In only their third start in the ALMS, the GMG Racing team... Read More

Orange County Ca, May 29th, 2008

Global Motorsports Group (GMG) has now taken delivery of a 2008 997 GT2. We are proud to be one of the first tuners in the world to offer a tuned version of the fastest production 911 to date.

Named the GMG WC-GT2, with the “WC” standing for World Challenge, North America’s premier road racing series sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing, this car will feature all the current GMG modifications developed on our Speed GT 997 Cup car, with all the latest Motorsports derived technology applied and refined for the street.

The new 997 based GMG WC-GT2 will feature the latest Motorsport derived technology applied and refined for the street.

Suspension: GMG's WC suspension components include new GMG WC fully adjustable sway bars (front and rear), adjustable control arms for the rear, GMG's GT rear dog bone kit, toe steer kit, thrust arm bushings and bump steer kit to work with the new revised suspension geometry and ride height. Level 2 will include revised Moton Club Sport dampers specifically valved to GMG's spec's with custom wound Eibach ERS racing springs.

Exhaust: A completely new GMG WC-GT Sport exhaust system with 200 cell sport catalyst has been developed that not only improves the performance and sound of the exhaust system it also ads no additional weight. The exhaust is complimented by GMG’s WC-GT Sport exhaust manifolds that aid in turbo response and lower EGT's to improve the already impressive torque curve.

Software tuning will be handled once again by the world leaders at GIAC. There will be a GMG WC-GT specific file, which is tuned for the GMG WC power kit. A first for any software tuner, GIAC's latest on the fly switching capabilities will be available to the driver offering them the ability to select the following programs; stock, 91, 93 or race (100/104 octane-unleaded) while driving by simply touching a button on GIAC flash loader. Power increase will range from 70 bhp up to 120 bhp over stock depending on the power package configuration and octane of fuel available. Custom built engines are also available from GMG with power levels up to 850 bhp. For track customers an upgraded LSD unit is available of up to 80% lock and revised shortened gear ratio's for those wishing to maximize their vehicles for track use.

Safety is further enhanced by GMG's GT harness/roll bar which was originally designed by GMG in 2004. A complete roll cage will be available soon after. Custom interior options are available to the customers specification and are not limited to what the factory offers. GMG is proud to work exclusively with Turin Model, an Italian based company, which offers hand crafted interior upgrades in any desired color combination with materials ranging from leather to Alcantara. A customer’s imagination is the only limit when designing an interior scheme.

Aerodynamics consist of a new revised front splitter which produces more down force and a revised rear wing extension and an optional wicker to maximize rear down force while minimizing drag. All components are made of the highest quality carbon/kevlar composite material and are a direct replacement to the factory urethane units. Additionally, a carbon/kevlar bonnet and wider front fenders to accommodate 10.5" wide front wheels will be available by mid July.

Customers will also be able to equip their WC-GT2's with the latest offering from BBS Motorsport. Three piece race wheels in 19x9 front and 19x12 rear which are lighter than the factory offerings will be available. GMG's relationship with Michelin grows stronger with the WC-GT2 as the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup has once again been chosen as the tire of choice for the 200+ MPH super car. GMG remains one of less than a handful of development partners for this prestigious tire manufacturer.

All the GMG WC-GT equipped cars will also receive a serialized number plate located in the driver compartment confirming their exclusivity.

GMG had already raised the bar in Porsche tuning with their GMG WC-GT2 based on the 996 platform two years earlier. World re-known editor and Porsche tester Ian Kuah stated “It’s Carrera GT-Killing, Ferrari Enzo-Flaying stuff.”

We are very pleased to be one of the first tuners in the world to provide tuning solution for the 997 GT2. The WC-GT2 program is developed and intended for the 997 GT2 owner who wants to take his GT2 to the next level without sacrificing its reliability, drivability and ultimate quality. All aspects of the new car have been improved including handling, power, safety and aerodynamics. The 997 GT2 is the next step for us in the GMG-World Challenge line of cars which we are offering along side the 997 WC-GT3 and RS models as well as the previous generation 996 WC-GT2.
