07/21 SANTA ANA, Calif - GMG was in full force at Mid Ohio with the return of Sean Allen to World Challenge racing after missing the last 3 races.
Mid Ohio is a technical track requiring precise setup and the GMG Porsches were competitive right from the start.
Dino and James were running in the top ten in practice and Sean was getting back up to Speed in this newly prepared 997 WC GT3 Cup car.
When it came to qualifying, Dino managed to slot in the 14th spot and Sean was in 27th.
James was unable to qualify due to a water pump pulley failure right before qualifying and started 29th.
Race day came and all 3 of GMG’s drivers were anxious to go racing.
With James starting from the back, it was going to be an exciting race as he was 5th fastest in one of the practice sessions, showing the potential of his car.
At the start Dino and Sean made up several spot and James was able to pass 12 cars in the first lap.
James eventually caught Dino and the 2 of them carved their way through the field with Dino finishing 7th and James finished right behind him in 8th.
Sean had a strong showing for his first Speed GT race in 3 months and finished 21st.
James maintains his 5th place in points with Dino moving up to 13th and Sean in 29th out of 40 drivers competing for the Championship.
Mid Ohio’s race will be aired this coming Thursday July 24th at 10pm PST.

Level 1 Sport Clutch Kit - 997S
GMG Introduces its 997S Sport Clutch Kit. This kit is specifically designed
as a direct replacement clutch kit for 997S 3.8 liter cars. The factory 997S
3.8 has a stepped flywheel and the 996/997 3.6 clutch kit will not work. The
flywheel is made of billet aluminum and offers a replaceable friction area.
+50% reduction in weight over the stock flywheel (stock 24lbs/GMG 11.5 lbs)
and comes complete with pilot bearing, ring gear and torque plate in place.
The disc is a specially designed Sachs Race Engineering unit that is spring
loaded to minimize gear box noise (when removing the dual mass flwyheel) and
is full faced with metallic racing linings offering excellent wear
characteristics and added strength in high performance applications. The
pressure plate is also from Sachs Race Engineering and offers additional
clamping force. The kit is an ideal upgrade for a street car that is being
used for spirited driving, autocross, track event, club racing or high
horsepower applications.

Kit includes: GMG Lightweight flywheel, pilot bearing installed, ring gear
installed, torque plate, hardware, Sachs Race Engineering Pressure plate,
Full faced sport disc with metallic linings, Throw out bearing, hardware and
guide tube.

Fitment: 997S/C4S with 3.8liter engine only

Recommended for street cars and owners who want to minimize transmission main
shaft noise. Spring loaded disc acts as a damper in place of the dual mass
flywheel.

GMG offers you performance clutch kits from Sachs Race Engineering utilizing our lightweight flywheels for added performance.
Kits include GMG Lightweight Flywheel, Sachs Race Engineering Full Faced Disc (no chatter), Sachs Race Engineering
Pressure Plate (rated up to 700hp for 996TT and GT2 applications), Sachs Release Bearing and new hardware for flywheel
and pressure plate. Our clutch kits are suited for street and track driving and offer virtually no chatter with the added
clamping force required by high-horsepower cars.

GMG Lightweight Flywheel
GMG Lightweight Flywheels are designed with performance and
reliability in mind. Our flywheel is a great upgrade for any street car, and a must if you are tracking your car.
The factory dual mass flywheels weigh up to 26 lbs compared to our flywheels with a weight of
10-12 lbs. depending on your application. The reduced weight allows your engine to rev up and down
quicker, increasing horsepower and acceleration throughout the entire rev range. Add a sport clutch kit
and you have a combination that works. Best of all, our flywheels are designed to work with the factory original
clutch components.
